Don't Waste Food

Yesterday two of our students were on WCCE- our school broadcast. The message was simple. Every day students throw food away at lunch and waste a lot! They wanted to get the message that too much food is wasted, some kids don't have food at home, and you're wasting your parents money. Instead of throwing it away, take it back home if you brought a lunch or if you buy lunch don't throw away what can be saved. They were familiar with that message because they see it happening in our class. If we have extra fruit then we take it to the class and anyone is welcome to take it home to have. We hope that by hearing the message, kids will make sure they take what they like to eat, eat what they can, and not just throw it away. So proud of our boys for the strong message they sent.

Experiment Day

Today our reward was Experiment Day. We had two really big fun experiments in science. The first one was on gravity. The kids loves learning that all matter will fall at the same rate. Then we made oobleck. Talk about a mess! But oh how fun. Kids were able to experience how a solid can go to a liquid and a liquid back to a solid. Here are a couple pics from the day.

It's the 100th Day!!

What an exciting day- the 100th day of school. This afternoon we did some fun activities centered around the number 100. Here are a couple of our 100 year old kids.

Reading under the Pavilion

This week we are cashing in on some of our rewards we earned from Boosterthon. This morning we had donuts and read at the pavilion. It was the quietest reading time we had all year!
