Over the last couple weeks we have been working on our food unit - Where does our food come from? This week we kicked off our dairy lessons with making pudding. What are some of the things we use milk for? Mrs. Dillard brought her kids down and joined us for this fun, yummy experience. Hope you enjoy the pics~

Lookybook of the week
This week our book of the week is Apples by Gail Gibbons. Gail Gibbons is known for her non-fiction books. I have chosen Apples because we are in our food unit for the next month for science. Read this book and learn all about where apples come from and all the things we can make with them.

Another Great Site for Kids
I am always looking for new ways for kids to have access to books. A reader has hooked me onto a great new site for kids ~ Big Universe. This site offers free on-line books to read (in different languages) as well as a program where students can create their own books. They have a great variety of books and the site allows you to look by age or genre. I can't wait to share this site with the kids. Check it out and tell us what book you read.

Rain Makes Applesauce
Looking for a great read aloud to do with your child today? How about sharing this month's Book of the Month Rain Makes Applesauce? This is a great story into a child's imagination where anything is possible. Write and tell us your favorite part! (Don't forget to click on the eyes to make it larger)

A Day of Celebration!
As we ended the month we finished with our celebration of Eric Carle. I can't begin to tell you how much we enjoyed his stories. The kids were able to learn so much about him as an author as well as an illustrator. Here are the highlights from our day.
